The Bobby Safaris Difference

Tanzania's Finest Safari — Designed for Singapore Standards

Singaporeans know what quality looks like. You expect precision, discretion, and an experience that matches your standards at home — and then takes you somewhere you have never been before. That is exactly what Bobby Safaris delivers.

Don Kassim and the Bobby Tours family have been running safaris from Arusha since 1978. Every itinerary is designed personally — not delegated to a booking agent, not forwarded to a third-party operator. When you contact Bobby Safaris, you speak to the family that owns the vehicles, employs the guides, and has 48 years of relationships with Tanzania's finest camps.

Why Bobby Safaris

Built for Singapore Travellers

Direct From Arusha

Every safari is designed by Don Kassim himself from the Bobby Tours family office in Arusha — not by a travel agent in Singapore forwarding your enquiry to a Tanzanian operator. You speak directly to the family that has been running safaris since 1978.

Curated for Singapore Lifestyles

We understand what Singaporean travellers value: precision, privacy, the best available experience, and service that anticipates your needs. Our ultra-luxury itineraries are built to the standard you are accustomed to at home — and then set in one of the most extraordinary environments on earth.

The Northern Circuit: Your Safari Foundation

Most Singapore-based travellers start with Tanzania's Northern Circuit: the Serengeti for the Wildebeest Migration and predator action, Ngorongoro Crater for unrivalled wildlife density in a dramatic volcanic caldera, and Tarangire for intimate elephant encounters away from the crowds.

Flights: Singapore to Kilimanjaro

There are no direct flights from Singapore to Kilimanjaro. The most convenient route is via Dubai (Emirates, 7 hours) with a connection to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), typically via Nairobi or Dar es Salaam. Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa is a reliable alternative. Total journey time: approximately 14–18 hours depending on connection. We arrange all ground logistics from JRO.

Privacy and Flexibility

Your safari is private — just you, your companions, and your guide. No joining other groups, no fixed departure dates, no compromise on your schedule. We build around your dates, your interests, and the experience you want to have.

Practical Information

What Singapore Travellers Ask

Do I need a visa for Tanzania as a Singapore citizen?

Singapore citizens receive a visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. The visa costs USD 50 and is valid for 90 days for tourist purposes. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. We send comprehensive pre-departure documentation to all clients before travel.

What vaccinations do I need for Tanzania?

Yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from a yellow fever endemic country, but Singapore is not one. However, we strongly recommend yellow fever vaccination for all travellers to Tanzania as a precaution. Standard recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine MMR. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for safari regions — we provide detailed guidance with your booking.

Is Tanzania safe for Singaporean travellers?

Tanzania is a safe safari destination for international travellers. The safari parks and main tourist areas (Arusha, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) have established tourism security infrastructure. We provide 24-hour in-country support, a dedicated Arusha-based coordinator, and experienced guides who know the parks intimately. Your safety and that of your companions is our absolute priority.

What is the best time to see the Wildebeest Migration from Singapore?

The Wildebeest Migration occurs year-round in the Serengeti — it is a continuous cycle, not a single event. For Singapore-based travellers, the most accessible windows are: calving season (January–February, southern Serengeti), river crossings (July–October, northern and western Serengeti). We help you time your safari precisely for the experience you want.

How far in advance should I book?

For ultra-luxury camps in the Serengeti during peak season (July–October), we recommend booking 8–12 months in advance — these camps have as few as 8–12 tents and fill 12–18 months ahead. For other times of year, 3–6 months is usually sufficient. We manage all advance bookings and camp availability on your behalf.

Can I extend a Tanzania safari with Zanzibar?

Yes — and we recommend it. Zanzibar adds a completely different dimension to a Tanzania trip: the historical richness of Stone Town, some of the Indian Ocean's finest beaches, and a level of luxury that matches the safari experience. A 4-night Zanzibar extension after your safari adds approximately $3,000–5,000 per person to your itinerary cost.
