Inquiry vs Confirmed Booking

Submitting an inquiry through this website is not a booking. It is the beginning of a conversation. A booking is only confirmed when you have received a written itinerary and payment terms from Bobby Safaris, and you have confirmed acceptance in writing along with your deposit payment.

We plan every safari individually. We will tell you honestly if your preferred dates, accommodation, or destinations are not available — before you pay anything.

Deposit

A deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required to confirm your booking. The deposit secures your reservation and allows Bobby Safaris to begin committing accommodation, transport, and guide arrangements on your behalf.

The deposit amount and payment deadline will be stated in your written booking confirmation. Deposits are payable by bank transfer. Credit card payments may be available on request and are subject to a processing fee of 3%.

Balance Payment

The remaining balance is due 60 days before your departure date. If your booking is made within 60 days of departure, the full amount is due immediately.

You will receive a written reminder before the balance is due. If the balance is not received by the deadline, Bobby Safaris reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and retain the deposit.

Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your booking, contact us as early as possible by phone or email. Cancellation is effective from the date we receive your written cancellation notice.

• 60 or more days before departure: Full deposit refund, minus any direct costs already committed (e.g. non-refundable internal flights, camp deposits already paid by Bobby Safaris on your behalf).
• 30–59 days before departure: 50% refund of the total safari cost, or a full credit toward a future safari within 24 months.
• Less than 30 days before departure: No refund. Bobby Safaris will use best efforts to rebook the same arrangements, and any amounts recovered will be credited to a future safari.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to cover trip interruption, medical evacuation, and cancellation for unforeseen reasons.

Cancellation by Bobby Safaris

In the unlikely event that Bobby Safaris must cancel a confirmed booking, you will receive a full refund of all payments made, including the deposit. We will also offer a priority booking on the next available date at the same terms.

Bobby Safaris reserves the right to cancel without liability in cases of force majeure — war, civil unrest, natural disaster, pandemic, or government travel advisories that make the safari impossible or unsafe to operate. In such cases, a full refund is provided.

Amendments

Once a booking is confirmed, any amendments (change of dates, accommodation, itinerary) are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Bobby Safaris will confirm any amendment costs in writing before applying them.

Minor amendments (e.g. adjusting a pick-up time) are usually possible at no cost. Significant changes may require a new written booking confirmation.

Pricing

All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Prices include everything specified in your written itinerary confirmation.

Once a booking is confirmed at a specific price, that price is fixed. Bobby Safaris does not introduce surprise surcharges after confirmation. Currency fluctuations and exceptional fuel cost increases will be communicated in advance, and you will have the option to cancel with a full deposit refund if you do not accept a revised price.

Liability

Bobby Safaris acts as the principal for all services it provides directly (guide, vehicle, internal logistics). For services provided by third parties (accommodation, external airlines, activities arranged as part of your itinerary), Bobby Safaris acts as an agent and is not liable for the performance of those third parties.

Bobby Safaris is not liable for loss, injury, or damage arising from events outside its direct control, including but not limited to: weather, wildlife, road conditions, acts of government, or the actions of third-party suppliers.

Travel Insurance

Bobby Safaris requires all clients to hold comprehensive travel insurance, including:

• Medical evacuation and repatriation
• Trip interruption and cancellation
• Personal belongings and equipment

Proof of insurance may be requested before departure. It is your responsibility to ensure your policy covers the specific activities and regions of your safari.
