How is Bobby Safaris different from other luxury operators?
We are a third-generation family operator in Arusha, not a global brand with local contractors. Don Kassim designs every itinerary personally. Your guide is directly employed, has been with us for over fifteen years, and knows the parks at a level that only comes from decades of weekly presence.
What does a luxury safari cost?
Bobby Safaris designs every journey individually — there is no fixed menu. Ultra-luxury safari at this level reflects the specificity of the itinerary: which camps, which season, how many travellers, and what level of access you are seeking. The starting point for a bespoke private safari is in the upper tier. Don will give you a precise figure after your first conversation.
When is the best time to go?
The dry season from June through October offers the most reliable wildlife viewing across the northern circuit. August through October brings the Great Migration river crossings in the northern Serengeti — the most dramatic wildlife spectacle in Africa. Each season has its own character; the right time depends on what you most want to experience.
How far in advance should we book?
For peak season (August–October), we recommend eight to fourteen months. The best private camps in the northern Serengeti fill twelve to eighteen months out. This is not a sales tactic — it is the reality of genuine scarcity at the quality level.
Can you accommodate special interests?
Every itinerary is built around the specific interests of the travelling party. Photographers, honeymooners, families with young children, birding enthusiasts, multi-generational groups — each has different requirements. We discuss everything in the planning conversation before any commitment.
